Yemeni President Resigns

Yemen - Yemeni President, Ali Abdullah Saleh, announced it would abandon his rule in the coming days. Saleh plans to step down after nine months against the 33-year rule. "I reject the authority and will continue to reject it, I will leave power in the coming days," Saleh said in a speech at a state television, as quoted by Reuters on Saturday, October 8, 2011. 

While Saleh has decided to resign, but the opposition and ruling parties are still looking for a formula to find the deal of power transition. "I asked my supporters to stand and face any challenge," said Saleh.

Protests against the government in Yemen Saleh has been crippling. The protest is due to a number of countries began to support the wing of al Qaeda terror by using the upheaval and expand a foothold through the Red Sea shipping routes. Saleh actually has three times the back of the signing of an agreement mediated by the transition of power.
